Wedding photos can be nerve wracking enough just thinking about the gown that you are going to wear.  Hair and makeup are in a league of their own.  If your session is nearing closer and you are breaking out from fear that your hair or makeup will not be absolutely perfect, follow our guide below. Eye Color– Consider what color your eyes are, don’t match your eye shadow with your eye color (i.e. if you have blue eyes, don’t wear blue eye shadow) Hair Color – You should consider your hair color in what makeup will work best for your photo shoot as well.  Making the proper choices with eye shadows, bronzers, blush and you can make little enhances that will brighten up your whole look. Hair Style – if you have split ends, they will quite possibly show up in the photos.  Get your hair cut at least 2 weeks before your photos are taken. If you are thinking about trying something new for your photos, do a dry run with the different options that you are considering.  Take a […] Read More
One of the biggest influences on how pictures will turn out, is your wedding party. Most people don’t even introduce the photographer to their family, bridesmaids, and groomsmen. Remember, many people are camera shy and really don’t like to get their picture taken. If they are avoiding pictures or trying to rush through things, that is going to limit your photographer and also put a downer on your day. When I book a bride, they are normally very inspired to get some great shots and spend some quality time on pictures. Most grooms are the complete opposite. However, when both are excited about it, is when great things happen. If that is you, you should stress that to your wedding party as well. Show your bridesmaids some picture ideas that you have. Mention to the groomsmen how much this means to you. Looking back at my own wedding, those photographers had it easy. Getting a great picture was near the top of our list for the day. Our wedding party knew that as well and was excited for the hour we planned for fun shots on Main Street of our small town. What did we end up with? Walls filled […] Read More

Many people once they receive their wedding pictures will put them in Wedding Albums. The only problem with this is that many times they sit on the shelf and are not opened for years! There are unique projects that can utilize your wedding pictures so that they are treasured every day. Frame them. This is the first thought that comes to mind besides putting them in an album. This is one simple way that you can display wedding photos that allow you to see them on a regular basis with no extra effort.  If you are living in a small house or apartment frame is a great way to show off a lot of pictures at once and still free up space on the walls for other hanging treasures. Make fun cards. Many couples when taking their wedding photos will take a “thank you” picture so that they can make customized thank you cards for the gifts they receive. This also works for other occasions, such as announcements. Give them as gifts. This idea is especially thoughtful for the father of the bride or for those who stood up in the wedding. Choose a picture that involved the person you […] Read More
When deciding on a wedding photographer, many different questions need to be answered. Wedding photographers can influence your day in a positive or negative way for both you and your guests. It seems like it should be as easy as picking a person within your budget and moving on, but trust me… it is not. The first thing to look at is budget. Wedding photographers in the Omaha, NE area can cost anywhere between $1000 – $5000. Price doesn’t always determine quality either. If you are looking for a straight-forward price, check their website first. I may be different than some, but if I didn’t see a package price listed directly on the site I move on to the next photographer. Secondly, consider style. Whether you are looking for an artistic or journalistic photographer, you need to match your style with theirs. That should be as easy as looking at their website and knowing if you like their photos or not. Don’t settle because the price is right, there are probably 10 more wedding photographers around with the same price range. Style also affects the way they take pictures. Are they going to stop you in the middle of the […] Read More

But there is something very important you have to remember to take care of- YOU! Here are some things to keep in mind that will give you pictures that will not disappoint: Brides and brides to be smile a lot- so make sure to take care of your teeth. Some of us were not blessed with the blinding white teeth that others may have- to plan ahead if you need to have your teeth whitened. Make sure that makeup you are wearing for the big day will be appropriate for pictures. For example, glitter looks pretty in person, but might not show up correctly in pictures. Many girls will go for a makeup consultation. If you are one of them, make sure to take pictures of your face once the makeup is applied so that you have a better idea of what your face will look like. When putting on eye shadow, make sure to pick earth tones- you want your natural eye color to stand […] Read More
